The Guadalupe River is the southern most Trout fishery in the United States and offers blue ribbon trout fishing right
here in the Texas Hill Country. This year, Hill Country Flyfishers is proud to announce that we will
be guiding on the Guadalupe. In the past we have focused solely on warm water Bass Fishing, but many
of our customers asked us to start guiding on the Guadalupe. With the addition of Clint Jackson to
the HCFF team, we now have a full time Trout fishing operation. You can expect the same level of five
star service you have become accustomed to on our warm water trips here on the Guadalupe.
Formed by the Canyon Lake Dam, this tailrace is stocked with Rainbow Trout each year by both Texas Parks
and Wildlife and Trout Unlimited. Along with these stockings, there are "hold-over" fish making this
fishery productive well into the spring. As supporters of Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited, we monitor
the Trout release dates and river conditions on a daily basis so we can offer you up-to-date trip advice.
This is a classic tailrace fishery with the majority of fish caught on nymphs and streamers with the occasional
dry fly fishing opportunity. As always, we provide the flies used on your trip, allowing you to use
the most up-to-date, productive patterns available. With our staff of expert fly tiers, you can be
assured that you will always have the fly you need.
Hill Country Flyfishers will be offering both float and wade fishing trips on the Guadalupe. We use clean, well
maintained pontoon rafts for our float trips, offering you the comfort and safety you have come
to expect from us. We have also modified our outstanding lunch menu to reflect the cooler weather.
Clint and I hope that you will join us on the Guadalupe for the same great fishing experience you have come
to expect from Hill Country Flyfishers. Same great guides, different river.
